Tuesday I found out that my mom had fallen and broken her femur and that my brother in law Justin was in the ER for a severe migraine. Wednesday, I find out that Justin's MRI shows a huge mass on his Cerebellum. At that point, my sister falls apart. This has always been her greatest fear. Based on the MRI, it is definitely cancerous so they schedule him for surgery on Friday. They wanted to try and get the swelling in is brain down. The tumor was pushing is brain out of his skull. Thus the sever migraine. He went into brain surgery around 4PM Friday. The surgery was 6.5hours long. Around 7 or 8PM, I had a bad feeling with regard to my mom so I had my sister Aimee go to her house and check on her. I couldn't leave the ICU waiting room. I'm glad I had my sister check, mom was pretty close to dieing. I had my sister call 911 so that we could get her into the ER ASAP. Since I was already at the hospital with Justin, I met mom at the ER. Around 1045PM or so, Aimee stopped by the ER. She took my place in the ICU waiting room. The tumor was a lot worse than expected. Mom was severely dehydrated, anemic, had a UTI infection and along with her broken femur, looks like she has fractures in both hips. Possibly more, their doing a full body bone scan today. She is comfortable though. Justin is awake and talking but very scared and in lots of pain. He is going to be in the ICU until the pathology reports get back mid/end of this week. They suspect the cancer is level 3 which, statistics give him 2-3 years.

Regarding Justin. The pathology report finally came back. The tumor that they removed is non cancerous. They are performing a full body MRI today to make sure that he doesn't have any more tumors and then hopefully he will be moved out of the ICU to a normal room. He will still have to undergo some treatment using a gamma knife, but he will be okay in the long run. Right now we're just trying to keep the family afloat.
Regarding mom. She is much more comfortable. She has a broken right tibia and left femur as well as several fractured ribs. She was discharged over to the Skilled Nursing Facility for rehab. She will be there for 7 days.
It will be a stressfull and tiring couple of months, but the outlook is positive.
Well, thanks to Justin's psychotic biological mother, he's coming home early. She yelled and harassed him and my sister to the point were he just wanted to leave so that he could get away from her. The doctor says that he'll be okay; they just wanted to keep him in for a couple more days to get his pain under control. After she got through with Justin earlier today, the nurses needed to sedate him. It's a good thing that killing idots is against the law otherwise, i'd go duck hunting.
Mom is doing great. Apparently, her and her roommate hit it off. She is very happy...happier than I have seen her in a very long time. She's making friends left and right and is so full of energy. Being happy and having something to look forward to makes healing so much easier and quicker.
I can finally sleep soundly tonight with both Justin and mom in happy spirits and safe hands.
I just wanted to thank everyone that prayed for my family and helped me through this.
Justin is doing great. The steroids are making him very hungry. He's eating like a pregnant woman.
Mom's still in a lot of pain, but we're very hopeful that things happened for a reason and that she's going to make a new life out of all of this.
Justin's doing great, the steroids are making him retain water so he's ballooning up. I'll post a picture soon. Can you say Stay Puff Marshmallow Man.
Moms doing okay, she's still in a lot of pain. She should be coming home tomorrow.
Good news. We convinced mom to stay a little longer to continue physical therapy. They finally have her pain under control.
Things may be getting worse. I just found out that Justin is back in the hospital. He's going into surgery tomorrow. He's leaking spinal fluid. Fuck! It just doesn't end. Or take a break for that matter.
Well, not only is he leaking spinal fluid, he has bad Meningitis. Their trying to get that under control before they operate again.
